Our Optical Spectroscopy Lab specializes on Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) and Ultraviolet and visible (UV-vis) Spectroscopy methods, which use ultraviolet, visible, or infrared wavelengths to determine physical, chemical or structural properties of materials. We analyze a wide range of materials, including gases, liquids and solids.
Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy is used to study and identify chemical substances or functional groups. Attenuated total reflectance (ATR) is a sampling methodology that enables the direct examination of solid or liquid samples without further preparation. The Nicolet iS10 FT-IR spectrometer is a complete infrared spectroscopy system for routine analytical needs.
The ALPHA II is a compact FT-IR spectrometer used for chemical analysis, quality control, quantifications and verification of raw materials. Window: ZnSe and KBr. Range: from 400 to 4000 cm-1. Working modes: ATR, liquid cell, pill (tablet) cell with press, diffusion mode.
UV-Vis Spectroscopy is an analytical technique for the quantitative determination of the absorption of analytes in the ultraviolet-visible spectral region. The Evolution 300 UV-Vis Spectrophotometer has a double beam optical design with a Xenon flash lamp light source that has a spectral range from 190 to 1100 nm.
The Shimadzu UV 2600-i UV-Vis Spectrophotometer has a double beam optical design with Deuterium and Halogen flash lamps light source that has a spectral range of 220-850 nm. The spectrophotometer can analyze solid state and liquid samples.
