Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy:
In our Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy Laboratory we provide structural molecular information. It is done through measurement of the interaction of an oscillating radio-frequency electromagnetic field with a collection of nuclei immersed in a strong external magnetic field. Measurable parameters of NMR: chemical shift, integrals of intensity, spin–spin coupling constant (J), nuclear Overhauser effect, relaxation time, dipolar coupling. Applications include structural analysis, purity assessment and quantitative analysis in organic research, pharmaceutical research etc.
JEOL 500 MHz FT-NMR Spectrometer:
Main magnet specifications: central field: 11.74 T (500 MHz 1H); High Frequency channel: 1H, 19F; Low Frequency channel : 31P - 15N; Temperature of sample: from -100C to +150C; Probe: Broadband ROYALPROBE for heteronuclear measurements;
The Royal probe is used for 1H and multinuclear NMR observation while irradiating 1H, or for 1H NMR observation while irradiating one nucleus among multiple nuclei, while applying a pulsed magnetic field gradient to a sample using a 5 mm sample tube in the FT NMR instrument.
